I have to tell you up front. WOW. How do I even start this? I am hesitant about giving out 5 stars. For this, a book has to blow my mind. And this one has done that and then some. To be honest, I can’t say that I noticed any flaws in this book besides the occasional grammatical mistake, but who isn’t bound to have at least a couple of those?

This story is captivating, fast paced, and it rips you along with it, taking you to a whole new world where you can’t help but love Cinder, hate Adri, and scream for Kai to realize what is really going on after Dr. Erland reveals things about Cinder that she herself did not even know. Full disclosure: I cried a few times. And then there is the Lunar Queen Levana. Oof. How I LOATHE her. Despise her. There were definitely all the feels when I was reading this book. All the feels. And when it ended, I turned the page and said, “Noooo!” It seemed like an abrupt ending because I was so captivated, but upon further thinking, I realized that of course it was the perfect place to end.

The perfect cliffhanger.

I can’t wait to keep reading!

  1. I’m so glad you enjoyed this one too! IT IS SO MARVELLOUS AND THE CHARACTERS ARE ALL ADORABLE WONDERFUL CREATURES. <3 And Iko. Like Iko is just the reason for everything.? Her crush on Kai makes me laugh. Oh oh and Kai/Cinder..eeeeep. I so hope you keep reading because honestly every book just keeps getting better than the last!!

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

    1. Yes to ALL the yesses. I already bought the second one and I can’t wait to get started! I have to agree, though, Iko stole my heart. A little tear comes to my eye just thinking about her. I’m afraid these books might drive me mad with all the feels! I feel bad saying it, but I think I felt worse for Iko than for Peony (don’t judge me). Throughout the book I was also basically screaming at Kai to get with the program and magically realize what was going on. Needless to say, that did not happen. I’ll just have to suffer through the remaining books!

  2. I am so glad you finally read this and enjoyed it as much as I did! (Better late than never, right? xD) I cannot wait to see what you think of the sequels – in my opinion each book just keeps getting better & better. Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous review! <3
