The New Year is upon us, with so many possibilities for success, for failure, for happiness, for sadness. It all depends on what you make out of it.
I have had a few experiences in the past weeks. While in Saas Fee, I went skiing for the second time in my life, for 2 days. And boy was that exhausting. My entire body is covered in sore muscles, and I have numerous bruises. I really wanted to learn how to snowboard, but Franz insisted that he hadn’t enough patience to teach me, so we went our separate ways on that matter.
When we got back to our lovely home, we discovered that it had also snowed here, which is quite a phenomenon, as the city we live in is one of the warmest cities in Germany.
On New Year’s Eve I cooked a nice dinner for me and Franz, just the two of us, and then proceeded to light our fireworks in front of our apartment complex and watched the neighbours’ fireworks as well. The complete opposite of California, where the personal possession of fireworks would probably lead to an arrest, everyone here has batteries, rockets and everything imaginable.
At midnight on the dot we shared a kiss and wished each other a Happy New year.
And to go with the flow, I have a goal or two for the New Year:
1. I have started looking for a ballet school to start a ballet class. We’ll see how well that works out!
2. I will get my German drivers’ license
3. I will work out and get a round plumb butt
What are your goals for the New Year??!
